Who We Are
|
Wilkommen/Bienvenue (German & French for "Welcome"), Vlietians! :)
Welcome to my wonderful sixth graders, parents & guardians for this new 2016-2017 school year! I love to travel and want you to travel the world and beyond with me this year! I have lived in many different United States and also in Heilbronn, Germany for three years. I attended Stuttgart American High School there. In lieu of a Halloween Party, we will be celebrating Germany's Oktoberfest with the whole sixth grade. :) Our room's theme is that of LOUISIANA & MARDI GRAS - complete with carnival masks & New Orleans street signs including "Rue Vliet (Vliet Street)". Can't wait to share our classroom CARNIVAL community with you. At Christmas, the sixth graders will be "Caroling Around the World" for the RES Christmas Sing and on Fat Tuesday, 28 February, the Vlietians will eat King Cake & celebrate Mardi Gras. Every six weeks, we will have classroom meetings conducted by our elected classroom assistants. We will learn in various group settings including our 5 groups led by their respective group managers. Daily, we will strive for educational success governed by our class mottos - "Laissez les bon temps rouler!" & "Work hard & play harder". :) I am honored to serve you all at Ridgeline Elementary School in the Highland community. I am proud to be a Ridgeline Raccoon! Thank you in advance for your welcome, support and service to our outstanding sixth graders! Auf Wiedersehen & Audi! ~ Mrs. Vliet, 6th |
